Meet the 2014 - 2015 Champions

The Disney Dreamers Academy Champions were selected among our 700 alumni participants to serve as program ambassadors. These 5 gifted young people have become national spokespersons and guest contributors to Disney Dreamers Academy social media, helping to inspire future Dreamers. Marcus is an alumnus of the Disney Dreamers Academy of 2010 and graduated from Woodside High School in 2013. There he was on the Youth Alcohol Drug Prevention Project, the Gospel Choir, the Principal's Advisory Committee and the Service Learning Program. He was freshman and sophomore class presidents, was in the national honor society and the Tri-M Music Society. Marcus performs locally as a singer and plans to study psychiatry in college.

She is currently applying to colleges where she will study science and medicine and is furthering her love for debate by building a debate program for students at the elementary school level. Her enthusiasm for working with kids finds a weekly outlet as a youth minister at her local church.

Kayla has shadowed the Editor in Chief of Essence Magazine and interned with Golf Channel.

She graduated in 2013 and now attends Pearl River Community College and Mississippi State University, where she is studying law. As a high school student, Shamiraca was a color guard, a member of the Key Club, served on the Student Council and volunteered with the Red Cross.

Cara graduated with a 4.0 average from Laurel Springs High School in 2014 where she was on the student council. She is currently a student at Penn State World Campus majoring in advertising and public relations and performs as an apprentice with the Ballet San Antonio of San Antonio, Texas. This year she plans to move to San Antonio to begin working as a professional dancer. Cara always dreamed of being a ballerina and credits Disney Dreamer Academy as helping to make that dream come true.
