Program Questions

Disney Dreamers Academy is a 4-day, power-packed event in which 100 select high school students, ages 13-19, are inspired, motivated and prepared to dream big. Disney Dreamers experience:
  • Inspirational guest speakers with immersive presentations
  • Career activities ranging from animation, journalism and entrepreneurship, to culinary arts and zoology
  • Networking and interviewing opportunities

Disney Dreamers Academy takes place in a magical setting at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Florida. Conducted on stage and behind the scenes, the theme parks become vibrant "classrooms" where Dreamers imagine bright futures, make exciting discoveries and learn how to put their plans into action.

In 2008, Walt Disney World created Disney Dreamers Academy in partnership with Steve Harvey and ESSENCE Magazine to encourage Dreamers along their paths to success, to provide them with tools to let their potential shine, and to convey that the power of dreaming is the first step to achieving their goals.

Dreamers are creative, eager to learn and dedicated to pursuing their dreams with passion. If you have what it takes and you are between the ages of 13-19, you live in the United States of America and you are enrolled in high school grades 9-12 when entering, apply here!

Disney Dreamers Academy delivers stellar educational experiences, including interactive career workshops, motivational talks and networking opportunities, all designed to motivate young students to dream big. Dreamers meet Disney cast members, celebrities, industry experts and community leaders showcasing a myriad of career disciplines. Dreamers also have the opportunity to explore the magic behind the scenes and have free time to enjoy Walt Disney World Resort theme parks.

The next Disney Dreamers Academy will take place March 21 through March 24, 2019 at Walt Disney World Resort. The program also offers online content and local events throughout the year to inspire and encourage all students to achieve their dreams.

Applications are accepted from June 28 to October 31, 2018. Students must register online at https://disneydreamersacademy.com/be-a-dreamer/apply/, answer all essay questions, complete the parents' consent form and submit an application before the deadline. Students must apply directly. Mentors/parents will not be allowed to submit essays on behalf of the students.

Selected participants and one parent or guardian will receive an all-expense-paid trip to Walt Disney World Resort, where they will engage in life-changing experiences and enjoy Disney's magical theme parks. Once selected, participants must pass all eligibility requirements and attend the 4-day Disney Dreamers Academy during the designated weekend at Walt Disney World.
